DVDSP 4.1.2 Menu below bottom of screen

My menu only displays partially and the lower part of it seems to be stretched beyond the bottom of the screen. The project is in 4:3 but it is the same in 16:9. Why, why, why?

I thought I had fixed it by checking all regions including 7, but that only worked for one project. On the following project the problem returned.

Why does it not automatically open the right aspect ratio at first attempt?
