DVD Studio Pro playback problems

I recently exported 16x9 video shot on a DV camera from FCP set with NTSC DV Anamorphic preferences. I exported the video using Quicktime NTSC DV Anamorphic settings. I set everything 16x9 Letterbox in DVDSP. My problem is, I'm getting varied results per player. My friend's 16x9 tv looked great. My 16x9 projecter looked to zoom the picture a bit (which it has never done with commercial DVDs). One of my 4x3's had a letterbox look (which I want for 4x3) but had an odd video mask down the right side of the screen. The other 4x3 totally zoomed the entire picture full screen without distorting the image but losing left and right sides.
My goal, to get the video to play widescreen on 4x3 consitantly and to set up properly on all 16x9 monitors.
Thought I did everything right, but evidently I didn't.
I couldn't find any posts with my specific problem. Any help or prior post is appreciated.
Thanks
