Hi Keith,

Thanks very much for your reply. If I export a QT either Pro Res or Animation the text is fine as well as the lines I've animated. I took into account line thickness, color and font when making the graphics but still found problems.

I did various tests making a time line with a number of different fonts, colors, and graphics and exported them to DVD SP using various compression methods. Pro-res to compressor, straight to compressor from FCP, QT to compressor, QT to DVDSP, and found that there was no difference between the clips. The red text looked awful as well as the cyan, Black and white looked ok but still not great. I also noticed the straight lines were warped on block rectangles I created, and circles were very pixelated. I have also noticed that on work where I have used split screen the edge of the frame sometimes warps or bows, and in certain cases pixelates. After exhaustive testing, searching forums, and reading the training guides and manuals I'm resigned to working with this. I know there are limitations to DV and DVD output, and I'm learning to work with them, It is also a bit anoying that the menu text isn't crystal clear, that is slightly pixelated, and that is purely created in DVDSP.
How do people create DVD which have crisp grahics and text which you buy in shops? Are they using different authoring software, or are they using higher spec footage digi beta/HDcam with a higher colour space etc. Is there anything I can do to improve my output?

Thanks a lot for your help and info very much apreciated

Sri
