You may be witnessing the effect of having interlaced footage on a progressive monitor like your computer screen. Burn the DVD and test it in a commercial setting ie; check it on your DVD player and TV. You will probably find it doesn't do that. The only other thing I can think of is that the footage is not flagged anamorphic and you are forcing it to display widescreen when it was shot 3:4 ratio?
