To give more details. . . . We are editing projects with FCP and then mastering them to DVD. We shoot everything in HD but are only creating SD DVD's. Our computers are Dual Quad Core 3GHZ Xeon's with 8GB Ram, plenty of power. It just takes an enormous amount of time to encode to mpeg2 through Compressor. I had a 3:15 clip, all HD, that I encoded to mpeg2 for a DVD. It took one hour for that to encode. When we encode our DVD's, that often run over two hours, we are having to encode for 20 - 60 hours. There has to be a better way.
