Compressing DVD thats Text Heavy Graphics and Other DVDSP screwies

Hi,
I'm trying to make this demo reel of a bunch spots that have a lot of text heavy graphics. Meaning that there is sharp edges with lots of contrast and a lot of text flying around. I've been compressing at the highest settings possible, that is like 7.7mb with a cap at 9 or so, 2 pass VBR. However the video still has a lot of interlacing around edges (jaggies or lines running through the text graphics). Is there anyway to get some good compression settings for this kind of video?
The horrible thing is when I de-interlace the quicktime videos than compress, the text graphics while moving come out less jaggy but when the text graphics are still they have lots of jaggy. Whats wrong!?
Please help!
Also, can any tell me why when I use compressor to make m2v and then dump then in DVDSP, it looks like its loading, and then it just vanishes?!
