The version of Compressor I'm using is 2.0. It does not specifically call the setting "CBR" - just "One-Pass" And, yes, you are correct, the max is greyed out. Only the "Average Bitrate" is available to change.

"One Pass" may mean CBR to Apple, but what it appears to really mean is "Constant Bit rate that Compressor Decides, Not that the User Sets."

I understand that this may be the best "CBR" I can get with my system. But is there no other wat to force a higher bitrate?

As for the dark look of the video, I'd be happy to send you a still off-line if you'd be interested.
