gamma settings

Dear all
I have noticed a gamma shift (colours look washed up)after burning a dvd.
I did a search on the forum but I couldn`t find an "how to change gamma settings in dvd sp", That`s what I`m asking, but it is possible to change the settings within dvd sp?
Apologise if my question doesn`t make any sense

p.s. yes.. when I view the project on the timeline on dvd sp before burning the colours are as per project or as per timeline in fcp.
