Thank you. I'll try CBR instead. I did use a bit calculator that said for the total of 109 minutes I'm fitting on the DVD, my average bitrate should be 5.4 but I'll give 6.5 a shot. I'll also do another test with BitVice. Maybe it was just a fluke.

Any further suggestions are appreciated. Otherwise, thanks...
