This I don't get. All of my encodes turn out darker, not lighter. I've had to compensate by adjusting gamma to 0.9 when working with 10-bit uncompressed QT files.
Question - does it end with the gamma filter or must other filters be used to then compensate for additional side effects? I've tried several tests - encoding, then importing back into FCP and looking at in color correction. Seems the black and whites shift during the encode. Is this where the BLACK/WHITE RESTORE filter would come in handy? Anyone have any advice on this filter? Bumping the whites back up seems simple enough, but how can one restore blacks to 0 when the slider only goes up?
