Michael Beeexporting subtitles from DVDSP3 to another format ???
by on Jan 24, 2006 at 10:59:31 am

Boys and Girls, help please ! I have created subtitles for a fiction film in DVDSP 3, and would like to EXPORT the subtitles to a text format, either textedit or something similar that a subtitling company can use to burn the titles onto a a Digibeta copy of the film. (They can always delete unused information, but the text itself must be complete in order to avoid copy-pasting each and every sub.) I considered creating the titles in FCP 4.5, but creating, writing, and spotting them in DVDSP 3 is more convenient and quicker (except for a few minor inconveniences regarding handles and short-cuts that I've learned to live with). How can I export the information of DVDSP3's S1 track to a text or STL file and be sure it will iclude at least IN and OUT TCs, bold and/or italics info as well as the entire text for each sub ? This an EMERGENCY. God knows I don't want to copy-paste nearly 2 hours of titles and timecodes. Thanks a million from Michael.
