Batch processing Shake scripts - help needed
by Caite Adamek on Dec 14, 2008 at 12:30:00 am

Hi

I need to run a stack of Shake scripts to generate HD tifs for various VFX shots. I am interning and the only available Mac is a Macbook Pro that another person uses. As the scripts take a long time to run and the Macbook's owner will need to take it home & do other work on it, I'd like to kick off the scripts in a batch that can be paused and restarted.

Is QMaster the best solution for this? It seems to be designed for distributed processing which is not what is needed (or possible) in this scenario, so I am having a little trouble sifting through the manual to work out if it has the functionality to run on a single machine and pause & restart.

Or is there a better solution someone can suggest?

I'm writing this from home & so do not have the laptop specs to hand to include in the post, but the laptop has plenty of processing power (it is an Intel Mac) & 4GBs of RAM.

Many thanks for your suggestions
