Film Dissolve vs. Video Dissolve
by Shawn Larkin on Jun 16, 2008 at 8:14:12 pm

Does anyone explain the difference between a film (old school optical) dissolve and a video dissolve? I have been asked to create "film dissolves" but the only information I can find explains that a film dissolve shows the brighter areas of shot B first. This makes me think I can just use a blending mode and dissolve to replicate.

Does anyone have any experience with this stuff?

Thanks in advance...
