Hi Captain
Don't be surprised about the affect your video tutorials are having on us brain dead users.
I don't like "them" (Most tutorial makers) giving me work examples where they explain EVERY CONTROL. I have a job....do the job...show me how you did it so I can get a finished product. Most of us that need the help are only trying something simple. So we don't need the advanced version. Show us how you just do a simple project. Then go and try something more advanced.
That is the reason we want the tutorial because the manual has also explained every control, not a recipe for something simple.
You cut right to the chase...PRESS THIS, GO HERE, DO THAT !!!
Once I see the basic dance steps, I can explore other buttons or controls. KEEP IT SIMPLE the first shot out the gate.
I have a couple of projects I'd like to use.
The storyboard has 2 people talking about a city wide program. In many of the buildings in the city, these programs are being run. So as these people talk, I want to create a fantasy scene where the activity is projected on to the exterior of the building. It seems simple enough, but knowing how to set up the clips, track the corners, get the tracking info so then you can make the movie are simple steps, but impossible when you don't know how. Again, their manual talks about all the controls. I don't need all the controls to do this.
The second is to track on a TV screen sitting in the room, a picture on the wall, a book on the desk....each of these will become objects I'd like to paste a moving clip.....that is job 2
Job 3 is the company 12 Inch Design. They provided several very nice moving animated displays. All you need to do is use 4 corner pin tracking to run your video inside these wonderful frames. Unfortunately, they tell you to use After Affects....OK, if I had After Affects ($$$), and knew how to use it, I might try it. But I have the, now less expensive SHAKE. I'm hoping that it and you can let me use both to make some very pleasing videos.
In fact Captain, I'm sure if you called them, 12 Inch Design and offer a video tutorial on SHAKE to work in their displays, it may mean a paid gig.
Those of us that need the help are the NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK (yuk...sorry) and we need simple how to tutorials to get started, not the advanced version first.
Thanks Captain...what you give away for free, I would buy it.
Dick
