Node insertion Issue with Shake 4.1

I recently purchased and installed the universal binary version of Shake (4.1) on my brand new macpro with the ATI x1900 graphics card. Everything seemed to work great untill I tried to insert a node by dragging it over a noodle that connected two nodes together. The node just hovers over the noodle connecting the two nodes without changing color or giving me any indication that it will try and insert it into the hierarchy. I am very familiar with this simple but nice gimmick for inserting nodes quickly and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, or has any thoughts as to the cause of the problem. Thanks,
