Hey Keith-

I am also a new Shake user; and like you have really taken to Mke Mench's tutorials (MORE PLEASE!!) I followed his tutorial (the "slow motion" one), and got the same wavy result. I noticed that the problem did not exist when I played the clip as a free-standing QT file; but only when I brought it into FCP (5), and other editors (After Effects). I was able to solve the problem, and use the clearly improved clip by applying a Flicker Filter set to "max". Try this, as it might make your clip workable. I would be equally interested in learning the real science to this, rather than this bailout however.

Cheers
