XDCAM Digitizing Problems via AJA IoLD

I'm having a nightmare of a time trying to bring in XDCAM footage from the PDW-F70 into FCP via the AJA IoLD box. I'm trying to do a downconvert (SDI A/V to DVCPRO50) Sometimes I get picture & audio, but no control or TC. SOmetimes it gives me an error message "An error occurred while configuring QuickTIme using the current capture preset. Please quit FCP and check your hardware configuration." I've got FCP 6.06 and OSX 10.4.11.
