iMac with i5 processor and 8 GB RAM = good enough?

Our main Mac is a Mac Pro 8-core (2,8GHz with 14 GB of RAM, that works just fine with our IoHD. (We shoot in SD over DVCPro50 on a Panasonic AG-HPX500).
We ordered new Macs to the office - iMac with i5@2,66 GHz and 8 GB of RAM. Just out of curiosity - will FCP7 run on this iMac, and perhaps wit the IoHD (with correct drivers, of course)? IoHD on the iMac is just an option, main use will be "offline" editing on the desktop, for final adjustment in the edit suite on the Mac Pro above.
The reason for asking here is that Aja does not specify iMac at all as "approved". But then again, FCP7 should run on an iMac, right?
