Unable to export

Hi, I am an occasional user of Soundtrack Pro, mainly using it for recording voice-overs and animation dialog.
However to day, after spending sometime mixing and adding effects, well just compression and eq, I am now unable to export.
I am getting the dialog box, and naming it, and choosing AIF and Master Mix... but the file created is silent.
I quickely made a new test file, recorded 1 track, no effects and it exported fine.
My routing is that all tracks are sent to Submix 1, and on THAT submix is where I am placing the effects.
The output setting for the submix shows 1,2 (I want stereo not multitrack)
I dont think this is a bug, just a routing problem.
hope you can help
EDIT: NEW INFORMATION:
I have now got it to work, but only by turning off CYCLE REGIONS. I do NOT want to export the whole timeline, but just seperate parts, but if I add in and out points for the cycle, I just get a silent file on export. turn it of and it works, but the whole time line... this is a workaround as I can edit the resulting file, but its annoying.
This is totally normal functionality in Logic, can it be that it simply doesnt work in STP?
EDIT TWO: EVEN MORE INFO:
Checking the manual, it says that exporting a region is possible, so... maybe this IS a bug then?
