Hallo,
i was just playing around with STP and i had the same problem... maybe this will help...
above and to the left of the little speaker icon is the name of the track and there is a little arrow. twirl it down and you should see the envelopes. when i file is exported with FCP, FCP will make keyframes for the levels and i am assuming the pan as well.
if you look above the timeline you will see the word READ, this is the automation mode, i believe if it is set to read, it will not record any changes made, change this setting to latch or touch and you can adjust the levels on the fly.
i do not use STP often, so there may be a better workflow, but i erase all keyframes sent from fcp and readjust the levels in STP. luckily my project is only 2 minutes.
for this project i even exported an OMF from FCP and then imported it into STP. doing this you can export with or without levels or pan keyframes, and without transitions(crossfades).
for whatever reason my audio in STP would appear out of sync in STP. with the omf everything was syncd up properly...
i hope this helps...
