Did you send to STP as a Multi track project?
Also, are there many layers to the project and is there any media that is not 16b/48k aif? (or whatever your project is set to)
I found on a recent project (my rant is listed below)that once opened for the first time, if i tried to do anything, the program would lock up. Performance aswell was sluggish, and if I tried to do much, I'd get the spinny-death-wheel.
What was happening was when the project was opened for the first time, STP was writing the graphical wave overlays of the audio tracks, and aswell I had some MP3 music files (I had thrown in for place holders and meant to replace with aif's, oops) and STP was converting these mp3's to aif's.
The first few times I tried opening the project I didn't give the program enough time to do all these actions, and would lock up when I tried to do more than a couple steps..
Once I figured out what ir was doing, I let it finish its tasks, and poof,, it all of a sudden starting running nice and smooth!
I was working on a 1hour segment, and it took 10-15+ minutes do do all this before the program would become snappy..
***until I hit some other roadblocks,, but thats another story!!*****
so,, try opening your project, then walk away for a few minutes while it gets the project all sorted out!
