You are on the right track using the Apple pro Training Books, however they are not perfect.
The authors are turning them out as fast as their feet will carry them and errors are to be expected.
The books are self contained but the authors generally give contact information somewhere in the book to answer problems. Generally they have a forum or some other way top attract users.
I have gone through many of the APTS books and generally find a few errors in each. Don't get stuck on one step. Go on to other Lessons if you can not get around this one and perhaps the answer will come clear as you learn.
