Re: OSS Ciprico Mediavault 5108 not mounting on XP SP3 after shutdown (dmboot fail
by Kevin Bare on Sep 4, 2009 at 6:51:09 pm

When Ciprico originally designed the MV5000 series arrays, the MV5108 was intergated with an 8-port RAID card (RC5252-08). The RC5452-016 card was for the MV5116, 16-bay disk array. So perhaps One Stop System's has changed a few things that I was not aware of. Sorry for the confusion. I recommended the v3.3.1 drivers based on the assumption you had the 8-port card, hence 5108.

Version 5.0 was correct.

Your inability to see the RAIDcore BIOS is the same problem I have been having with various ASUS motherboards. Some Motherboard BIOS have a toggle for "Option ROM" for each of it's slots. Check to make sure you have that enabled on the corresponding slot that the Host card is installed.

I have been trying research and troubleshoot the reason for the RC5000 family of cards does not work with certain ASUS brand boards.
