OSS Ciprico Mediavault 5108 not mounting on XP SP3 after shutdown (dmboot fail
by oleng tjioe on Sep 3, 2009 at 1:27:35 pm

Hi,

Our office have Mediavault 5108 configured as RAID 5 that mounts fine if we don't shutdown the computer.
After shutdown, it will not mount, in windows event log, dmboot reported

"dmboot: failed to start volume Volume3 (H:)" EventID:3

If I reinstall the raidcore driver it will show up again.
I thought the controller card was faulty, but installed a new replacement card from OSS doesn't help.
I have a feeling now that it's SP3, but before I do some major backup and hauling (downgrade to SP2) the system, I'd like to know if there's a solution without doing some big risk experiment with no assurance of the result. Anybody can help?
