Leopard and HUGE - Problems

Ever since we installed Leopard on our Mac (PowerPC G5, Dual 2.3 GHz) - we have had problems with our HUGE unit - Media Vault U320-R running on an ATTO Express PCI UL4D card.
We have updated the firmware on the HUGE through a PC. According to the PC software, we have now the firmware 19d installed. We also flashed the Atto Card, and we have the February 2008 drivers according to the ATTO maintenance software - which also claims our card is fine. Yet...
Every time we fire up the unit, it beeps twice and keeps beeping sporadically every 5 to 10 minutes or so, usually two beeps, sometimes three or four. I also noticed that our terminator behind the drive keeps switching between red and green. If the drive remains on for too long, it eventually freezes and beeps steadily - all the lights in the front of the device lit in a steady green.
We tried the unit on a similar machine equipped with Tiger 10.4 and none of these issues pop up ie Terminator is a steady green light and no beeps or freezes occur whatsoever. The unit runs fine and smooth like it used to... We have checked all the cables and connections and everything appears to be fine, and is at least under OS 10.4. The ATTO card works fine under 10.4 as well.
If anyone could shed some light on a potential solution, it would be greatly appreciated.
