The old and the new

I'm still running an old but reliable Avid Express AVBV 2.2 with Mac OS 8.1 with an older Avid Mediadock with 2 18is pro drives. I'm getting a new system down the road (probably 9-18 mos. - no promises) In the meantime, I have a go ahead to get some new storage. I need something compatible with the old system (running dual channels to get AVR77) and with a new system (probably a Mac with FCP). Any suggestions?
