Never used DVDSP to write an image from DLT....I think I remember hearing that as well. I dont think Encore does I've always used AfterEdit or Gear to do stuff like this.

You really should get check discs....I've seen 10s of Thousands of dollars lost and court cases filed because someone decided to save a couple hundred bucks. :)
