US to Europe DVD authoring

hello
I need to re-author a DVD containing a video recording which was shot in the US, hence in 29.97 fps. I have ripped the DVD into an .avi file keeping the same frame rate. I'm wondering though if I need to convert it into 25 fps as the new DVD will be watched in England? Is there any possible problem in doing this?
I have to say that I thought 29.97 fps would have been incompatible with UK DVD players, but this DVD plays fine on mine...
Thanks
