Compatability

I use Vegas Pro 8, but just recently tried Encore, and it seems very friendly in some ways, like assigning button actions, and end actions. With DVDA 4.5, you have to know where the files are for the movies, etc. to be able to assign the actions. What I am wondering is, I like my editing software (Vegas), and was thinking of using that for editing, but using Encore CS3 for the authoring. What happens when I use Vegas for the editing, and I assign markers on timeline to use later as chapters by the menu, as scene selections. Then I render it in Vegas, and import that MGEG2 into Encore. Will Encore see the markers, so I have a submenu for scene selection?
