Dave Flemingaudio import from XDCAM EX to PPro problem

(Cross post from Premiere Pro list)

Hi All,

I'm essentially re-posting a question from last week because I KNOW someone else has encountered this and has the answer...Here's the simple problem:

I'm shooting footage on a Sony PMW320 that records 4 mono channels of audio. When I transfer the BPAV folder to my local RAID drive and use Media Browser and import from there, my audio comes into PPro as "48000 Hz - Compressed - 1 Mono" into 1 channel. When I browse directly to my SxS card reader and import from there (which I wouldn't do practically), I get "48000 Hz - 16-bit - 4 Mono" into all 4 channels.

Why is just copying and pasting the BPAV folder to my RAID drive causing the audio to do this? Please help!

Dave
