I use the same card reader and it is much faster than than that. I use Clip Browser with the data check on and it is about 1/2 hour. I also use an eFilm SDHC card reader and the Sony is much faster than that.

I know this does not solve your problem but it at least confirms you have one.

Try using Clip Browser and just hit "copy all". Try it with data check "on" and "off" although I don't recommend using it regularly with data check off.
