SDHC and EX Firmware Versions/Serial Numbers
by Michael Palmer on Jun 20, 2009 at 4:03:26 pm

We all have been reading how some have had issues with SDHC cards and I would like to see if there is anything to the serial number (build date of the camera) or firmware version that causes this. I rented an EX1 from Tim Pendergrass and while picking up his camera he told me about some issues with his 2-Transcend 32 gig SDHC cards, so I took them and put them into my EX3 and the first card needed to be restored and it did this successfully then I reformatted as far as I know it fixed the card. The second of the 2 cards from Tim also needed to restore but it didn't give the option, so I removed the MxR and SDHC and tried it in the other slot and it allowed me to restore and reformat. I believe they both are now working and I'm waiting for Tim to confirm that they are.

Here is my firmware/serial numbers to my cameras and I hope others who use the SDHC solution and those have had issues will post theirs.

EX1, Serial Number 0100999, Firmware V1.12_0534 (I preformed this upgrade myself)
EX3, Serial Number 0100693, Firmware V1.02_0078 (Original Firmware)

I have NOT had issues with my MxR/Transcend 16 gig SDHC cards with either of these cameras.

Perhaps we can narrow the issues down this way.

Thanks

Michael
