Viewing XDCam EX1 footage w/browser on both PC and Mac

Help! We edit with FCP and are trying to successfully save a backup of my raw EX1 footage on an external 7200rpm hard-drive formatted NTFS for PC (client's platform) from my Mac. I can 'see' the drive when mounted, but even though we have reformatted the drive from the PC with which it will live and opened up the 'permissions' to allow all to read and write, I still can't save the footage to the drive. Both the client and I need to review the raw footage, but we're on different platforms and I am so hoping the EX1 browser will allow us to easily to this... Theoretically, it should work beautifully. Am I hoping for too much? Help!
