I talked to a Sony rep at an HD XDCAM 355 orientation and he said the the 700 may not ship with a 24p option!! At that point they just haven't decided yet. That was about 2 weeks ago.

He also said that the main design hold up is that the chip set alone was 30k until recently.

Beam me up. Kirk out.
