New to Area - Jobs and Groups

Hi,

My name is Chris Holland. I am new to the area, will be moving to Longmont on October 25th, and am having a heck of a time finding any job listings or User Groups. Even though I am just moving to the area I have been looking for jobs here since aat least May. I did recently find the Boulder Digital Arts Group and just recently this group

I have been looking for work on Indeed.com, Mandy, Production Hub and the Cow but it really seems that in the last month the postings have pretty much dried up.

I feel like I do a pretty high quality of work but when you don't know where the openings are it is tough to get a foot in the door. I have tried e-mailing tons of companies just to get my name out there and to talk with some people but haven't gotten one response. My next step is to start calling people and hope they'll take the call. I haven't done that yet because I was still 2 1/2 hours away and didn't want to call people out of the blue.

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. My reel is at www.hollandedit.com and if you have a sec please check it out and let me know if I am just out of my league here. I worked in PA for the last 10 years and was Production Manager and Senior Editor at my last job and we did a decent level of production.

Any advice and/or feedback on my site would be greatly appreciated. I am getting to the point where I am feeling ready to get out of the video field altogether and if things don't pick up soon I may have no choice. Thanks for your time.
