With the new 64 bit PCs you will have to go into the DEP preferences (under System prefs/Advanced)and "allow" the Combustion.exe to run. It is a security thing that I have had to do with Sony Vegas and some other apps as well that go out to the web to "check in" to the parent companies. While I can't guarantee it will fix your problem, I am pretty sure the DEP is the culprit.
