Hey Warren...

an aside....

I ran into the white frame in BEST Mode issue recently too....

However, knowing that the gfx cards in use at out facility aren't suitable for paticles I have been working exclusively in software mode....

this didn't seem to resovlve my issue...and I can confirm Heath's workaround....render them as a sequence and recomp them in....

Another dooise is when you need to track particles and you are using large plates....they don't perfrom well in these circumstances...but I the next time I run into this...I think the answer will be to track a paint stroke on the large plate...

then do a small plate with particles and use an expression to tie them to paint stroke....this ought to work nicely as the share the same cooridante systems....

but I've veered a bit OT here....

carry on....

Alex
