Actually i think this is a very smart move by apple , I hear that Shake has become a nightmare to add features to because of the the way it was originally coded, its a mess to pickup and expand, which is why apple has decided to start again, offering post houses to support it themselves with the right to code it themselves and adapt it as if it were an inhouse created software and do what u want with it for $50k, and licences for $499. This will benefit large film houses with over 100 seats in a big way especially those who a have already started to rewrite it. By that time the new Shake will be out. I think this is agreat strategy, rather than leaving shake at the same price and not change it and offer crap support for 2 years, like some other companies would do.
