Creating Presenter Titles

hi guys -

i have a pro bono project that needs titles for a number of presenters that are being taped and edited. i want to know how to accomplish semi-transparency in the titles, like what you might see for CNN, CNBC, etc...i intend to use trapcode 3d stroke and shine to do a lil sumn sumn with the type, but how do i send out the video from combustion into my video editor (Vegas) and get the transparency (so I can see the recorded footage, etc)?
