Numbered list para style issue

Hello,

I'm creating a 300 page book. All the text is linked from page 3 to page 298. I've tried several times to apply a numbered list para style in several locations in the text.

The problem I have is everytime I apply the style, it starts numbering where the previous list left off. I've tried several things in the style, including the Start Here under Mode. Nothing seems to work.

Can anyone offer me any suggestions?
