Magic Bullet looks...broken?

Hey everyone!

I have the latest version of magic bullet looks for after effects CS4 on my mac, and the strangest thing is going on, whenever I apply CERTAIN filters they come out terrible! Diffusion filters only edit half the frame, and other advanced filters such as the "star filter" obliterate the entire image. I am very confused, would this be a graphics card issue?
