My previews in Looks are small

Lately I've noticed that when I apply Looks to a clip in AE and then go into the Looks Builder interface, my footage preview is a lot smaller than it actually is. The zoom control at the top of the window says it's at 100% but... ah, it's nowhere near. Is it supposed to be like this? I really can't see what I'm doing well with the preview so small. It's about 50% smaller.

I was using Looks 1.1 and just downloaded the 1.2 update tonight. Same problem still happens. I'm on an 8core intel mac (early 09).

P.S. I know I can zoom in but the image will pixelate.

PPS Suddenly now it's working fine. Not sure what I did. I'd still be interested in hearing what causes this in case it happens again.
