mxo2 mini & new MBP question
by marcel franck on Nov 4, 2009 at 8:28:22 pm

Hello to all...ok I have my new 3.0 MBP with 4gig ram...running snow lep & fcp 7.01...i'm going to be editing fairly complex :30 spots in prores ...i want/need to monitor out to a decent monitor...i'm concerned that because the matrox box is using the express slot that means i'm stuck using fw 800 drives like a 3T caldigit VR...does anyone have any real world experience with a set-up like this...will the caldigit be fast enough to handle SD & HD prores sequences?...the caldigit site says that i should be able to do DVC PRO HD or Uncompressed 10 bit SD...Any thoughts from shane or andy would be appreciated... in the past i have always used a MAC TOWER & SATA 2 8 OR 10 drive raid 0 array...very unsure about firewire ...is there any alternative that i'm missing?
thanks in advance
marcel
