Thanks for the reply Steve! I hear what you're saying and will be using the MXO2 as intended.

The manual explains capturing well, and I totally get that. My situation is that I don't have access to the source (ie tapes) or cameras/vtr for all the different formats that may be given to me. I may have DV, HDV (1080i60 or 720p, etc) and even xdcam that I want to use in the same project and want to convert all the files to one codec.

I've always read on these forums that "you should always get everyhing into one format..." and that "you really need a good video card" to do so.

That's why I asked about possibly doing it in a batch or something.

Trust me...I read the manual and searched the internets before I stuck my neck out :-)

Just trying to figure a few things out. So...if I already have some clips in various formats, and I want to use the MXO2 to get them all transcoded into the same format how do I do it?
