Dont know for sure but possibly due to the LCD screen's interoperation of the incoming footage. The screen needs to have 1 to 1 pixel aspect ratio (matrox calls it dot by dot mode but no vendor I have spoken to know what that means) and full 1920 x 1080.

Without the above spec the LCD screen could be doing some funky scaling.
