Re: MXO2 Dead on Arrival
by Ri Stewart on Jan 11, 2009 at 6:46:17 pm

Luckily I had just tested a 50" mitsubishi with the same DVI-HDMI cable a couple hours earlier when I purchased it. Unfortunately, (or is it?) our studios are hours away from a town that even has HDMI cables.

I tried it using a 37" Westinghouse 1920X1080 LCD with DVI input. Red screen with a bit of noise.

The DVI works well for our "Cinema Previews" and as extended desktops straight out of our macs. Last time with MXO, I found that my 22" gateway displays while large enough for 720p work, wouldn't work at all with the MXO. The 37" monitor worked with the MXO earlier.

I work in a ProRes 720p 23.98 timeline. I had FCP set to the corresponding Matrox setting. Everything was dandy in FCP, and in the timeline... except the output was just that line I mentioned.

On Monday I will attempt to procure the BNC to RCA cables so I can test the component and composite. I was a bit shocked at the lack of cabling with the MXO2. Not even a power cord!
