Re: MXO2 Dead on Arrival
by Ri Stewart on Jan 11, 2009 at 9:25:27 am

Thanks for your assistance Andy!

I'm not able to calibrate it, or anything. Follow app, etc makes no difference to change any of the modes you mentioned. As soon as the computer & MXO2 boots up, the screen goes red with a bit of noise. It stays that way. When I load FCP, it goes to black, and a big band horiz across the center of the monitor, about an inch wide... starts blinking in many pixellated colors.

I haven't been able to check the SDI as I need to find me some cabling to go to RCA's. I'm mostly concerned about the HDMI output so I can calibrate my monitor.

I have a budget of about $1k for a monitor. It doesn't need to be big... anything over a 30" would be too big for the editing station.

I have looked at HDMI TV's, but I just don't see why I would need their video card/tuner if using the MXO2. I thought a computer monitor such as a 1080p HDMI would be a better bet if the response and contrast ratios were pretty good. The more I look, the more confused I get.

While I hope to someday afford a high end solution, I am currently trying to do this in stages without having to redo every step with the next project.

Your help and opinions are greatly appreciated.
