authoring

I have a Matrox RT.X2 and have been using the authoring system that it comes with. While this certainly works, it is very limiting from a creative standpoint. I tried to use a Sonic DVDit 6.0 with the Matrox, but have not been successful.

What are the best authoring systems to use with the RT.X2? I would like to be able to add subtitles and audio commentary, plus be able to give the viewer interactive options for video "series" (such as the "play all" or "episode selection" found on most collections of television program seasons). Also, what price can I expect to pay for a good system?
