Is the Matrox MXO bulletproof?

Moo, fellow cows.
We're a small production company, slowly but surely expanding our equipment and it always seems a struggle to properly select correct equipment. I appreciate CreativeCow, as it I learn so much from other users. I could only imagine trying to troubleshoot video systems without the internet!
We use an Octocore, but it already has a Sonnet eSata card in the #4 PCIe slot running an external raid.
We tried the blackmagic intensity pro, hoping it was a simple solution... but it wouldn't work in slot 2 or 3. It also didn't render in realtime with our 720p Prores codec our projects are in, so we have pulled it and are looking for a better solution.
I am tempted to fork out the big bucks for a Kona LHe, but we just don't need the input. We use firewire JVC HD100's, and Canon HV20;s. Since they shoot in HDV, why capture with a card when the color space can't be enhanced any more than file conversion? We don't use SDI decks... we're purely digital.
I have been thinking the Matrox MXO could be the answer, as it isn't workstation dependent, and most of all... can calibrate monitors for color grading. Does anything else do this?
Please send me your thoughts.
Thanks!
