Re: HD-SDI capturing problems

Hi Chris (and anyone else who might be able to help)...

I've tried a couple of the suggestions:

1) I can confirm, that YES, the problem does show up on pass-thru, not just on captured footage.

2) I can confirm, that YES, the problem still exists if I switch to capturing Mpeg2 I-frame, or any other capture settings. It still looks the same.

3) Per the suggestion "Try setting your genlock settings from internal to SDI video"... I do not have a genlock setting that says "SDI video", my only choices in the dropdown box are "Internal" or "Blackburst Broadcast Quality." I have tried both settings.

I was able to test the SDI port on the camera (to a degree) by using a standard-def project and attemping to import SD-HDI video (and switching the camera to downconvert and pump SD video out the HDI port). That works fine, standard-def video looks perfect.

I'm wondering again about my cables. Could that be an issue? During one configuration I used a different cable and the problem got noticably worse, although I have never been able to switch cables and get the problem to get better. I will admit that I am not using absolute top-of-the-line cabling, but they have never given us any other problems of any kind.

Any insight, advice, or just plain guesses are much appreciated.

T2
